Key Program Characteristics
- 100% voluntary participation
- Written parent permission required
- Off-campus instruction only
- No school funding or staffing
- Community-supported and privately funded
- No academic penalty for non-participation
- Students remain under full supervision at all times
Transportation & Student Safety
Transportation will be provided independently by AppCLC or approved community partners. Clay County Schools will not provide transportation or drivers. Students will travel as a supervised group under background-checked adults. A two-adult visibility rule, emergency response procedures, attendance accountability, and written parent permissions will be maintained at all times.
Current Proposed RTBE Structure
- Teacher: Dawn Daily
- Location: Truett Memorial Baptist Church, Hayesville, NC
- Transportation: 15-passenger bus and/or van model
- Class Length: Approximately 45 minutes including travel
- Launch Goal: Fall 2026
- Initial Focus: Clay County Middle School 7th Grade
